Well hello 2017! Finally a new blog post right?! I know it's been quite some time . . . I suppose I felt as though it needed to be something significant to start blogging again. And though there were some fabulous things going on, I wasn't able to share them (not yet anyway, so stay tuned).
So, all that being said, after receiving some photos this week, I felt this was the perfect way to start my blog for 2017. Why? Because this year I want to focus more on expanding my artistry in a way I never have before. As an artist, I feel the majority of last year was somewhat stiff. I want to learn more things, create in ways I haven't before and really push myself. I want to take on projects that are new and see what happens.
This shoot in particular falls into that category. Bohemian bridal (most popularly know as Boho bridal) isn't something I do much of. When photographer, Sabrina Fattal, asked me to be a part of this shoot, I was on board. I knew she trusted me completely and would allow me plenty of creative space. Her two request . . . Pretty makeup and an updo.
Often times with the boho bridal style, I feel like there isn't quite enough (when it comes to makeup and/or hair). So, I challenged myself to still provide polished glam without being overdone and still give that carefree vibe.
The model, Jewell, had just gotten bangs, which I was excited about. Bangs can sometimes be challenging to work with and I welcomed the challenge. It was great not having a concrete plan and really being able to take my time during the process.
Here is what I used on her . . .
Complexion: Embryolisse Concentrated Lait Cream, NARS Sheer Glow foundation, La Mer The Powder, and Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Amused.
Eyes: NARS Cosmetics Velvet Shadow Stick in Hollywoodland, Anastasia Beverly Hills Master Palette by Mario, and Lancome Grandiose Mascara. Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz in Taupe and the Anastasia Beverly Hills Pro Brow Palette.
Lips: Stila Stay All Day in Perla and Viseart Nude Lip palette to create a custom lip color.
Hair: GHD flat iron, Kenra Platinum Dry Shampoo (mainly for texture), Kenra Platinum HiDEF Hairspray, and Kenra Platinum Silkening Mist.

With the first month of 2017 being gone, I'm excited for this year. Plenty of destination weddings, more advertising and commercial work, the joy of working with some of my favorite creatives; and on a personal note, planning a medical mission trip this year!
Thanks for your continued support and let's give 2017 everything we've got!!!
Stay beautiful! . . . Inside and out.
