Bride Yvonne: Modern Downtown Atlanta Wedding

Last year, I had the opportunity to work with an amazing young woman, Yvonne. Not only is she absolutely gorgeous (with stunning red hair), she has a beautiful spirit and is so much fun!

Yvonne and her husband Clifton got married last May, at an amazing location in Atlanta, Georgia. Studio No. 7 is where they chose to hold their celebration; it's a creative space that includes an art gallery.  I was so excited to work with Yvonne after speaking with her about her bridal style. She knew she wanted Hollywood waves for her hair and she would be changing into a jumpsuit during the reception! I'm all for a bride who decides to switch it up a bit during her wedding day.

I was honored to work with both Yvonne and her mother, providing hair styling and makeup for the wedding. We began our bridal glam session at Twelve Centennial Park Hotel, an upscale hotel in downtown Atlanta. It has an modern feel and gorgeous views of the city.

The amazing Janel Elise Events was there to ensure everything ran smoothly. Colleen of 2nd Truth Photography photographed Yvonne and Cliff's engagement photos, and was there to document their wedding day as well.

There are so many things to love about this wedding! I always enjoy seeing first looks, if the bride and groom choose to have one.

Luxury Wedding Inspiration: The Hay House

I am so excited to share this with you! This past October, I had the opportunity to work with what I like to call, "The Dream Team!" I was invited to be a part of an amazing shoot with Michelle Scott Photography.

As this shoot began to come together, I became more and more excited. Michelle sent me some photos for inspiration and I was thrilled to do something a bit different.

Being a makeup artist, one of the things I enjoy most about my career is the opportunity to travel. Sometimes that means a road trip, sometimes it's a long flight and I love both! For this shoot, it meant a short road trip to Macon, GA. And it was completely worth it.

The Hay House is gorgeous! It's a historic residence, that is a museum; and an exquisite mansion with Renaissance type architecture.

I will say I have never worked so hard at a photo shoot LOL! And yet I loved every minute of it! There are a lot a staircases at the Hay House, and let's just say I definitely got my workout in that day.

I was so excited when I left the shoot. It was a long day, but I was beyond pleased with the way things worked out. And the ladies I worked with were so talented!  We were all excited when Weddings Unveiled wanted to publish our work!

When I'm at a photo shoot, I literally take over 100 behind-the-scenes photos. So I wanted to share a few of my favorites.

What I love the most about this shoot was not only working with some amazing individuals, but that there was a moody, but classic feel to the look. I am all about classic brides. It's important to be able for my bridal clients to look back at their photos in 30 years and see elegance.

I'd love to hear your thoughts on what you think the perfect bridal look is, so let me know below in the comment section.

And if you're a bride-to-be in search of vendors capable of such superb work, I've listed everyone involved:

PUBLISHED! South Asian Inspired Bridal Shower Styled Shoot

I'm so excited to share some great news! Munaluchi Bridal has published, via their blog, a styled shoot I was a part of earlier this year! Now that is has been published, I can share some behind the scenes photos with you and give you my perspective.

For those of you who don't know what a styled shoot is, it's basically a planned photo shoot that allows various creative vendors to come together. Often times there is a theme or vision that everyone is working toward.

I was contacted by Payal (on the left in the picture below), who is one of the partners of Anokhi Events, and asked if I was interested and available to do hair for this shoot. I typically do both makeup and hair, or just makeup for photo shoots, so I was excited to do something a little different this time! I didn't know much about the other vendors or the venue, so I was looking forward to meeting some new faces.

Paula Walker was the makeup artist for this shoot and we both started quite early that morning, with 4 models to take care of.

For this shoot I used primarily Oribe and Bumble and Bumble hair products. If was fun to experiment a bit, and have creative freedom. Once we transitioned to the gorgeous Summerour Studio I was shocked that I hadn't been there before. It is an amazing space that allows for so much creative freedom! Seriously, if you are a bride-to-be looking to get married in the Atlanta metro area, you MUST check it out.

The morning went smoothly and it's always great to work with such free, creative individuals. It was beautiful to see how things came together and to finally have a full visual of the vision Payal had. Everything was amazing! The flowers were breathtaking, the cake was an absolute work of art, and the skirts designed for the shoot were perfect!

I always enjoy watching other people do their thing,  and am always super excited and pleased when photographers send the final images . . . I'm always amazed. It's a great feeling to know you've contributed to the "final product". Thank you to the photographer, Laura Barnes, for all the hard work you put in that day and after!

This is the link for the blog feature, South Asian Inspired Bridal Shower, but I thought I would share with you some of my favorite images as well!
