Rocksbox

One of the things I love the most about doing photo shoots is working with other creative people. Recently I did a shoot with Michelle Scott Photography and the stylist for the shoot was Icon Stylist. I had a bit of a chat with her about styling and how to make some changes with my wardrobe and personal style; she suggested jewelry. Fast forward 4 months and I was introduced to Rocksbox!

Now to tell you a bit more about me, my wardrobe is very basic when it comes to color. I'm talking black, white, grey and beige/nude colors. And to be honest I love it, yet I also felt it needed a little something. But shopping for jewelry kind of overwhelms me. I didn't know where to start, what would look good, or even what is practical when I'm working (because though I like to look of 8 bangles, when I'm doing someone's makeup, it is highly annoying).

You know how there are all those subscription makeup companies where you pay a certain amount each month and they send you new stuff to try? Well, Rocksbox is somewhat similar. It is a monthly subscription, however, it allows you the opportunity to borrow the jewelry and decide if it is something you want to keep!

What I like the most about Rocksbox is the sets that are sent to me, are picked just for me. I don't get the same 3 pieces of jewelry everyone else does. I filled out a questionnaire and even created a "Wishlist" that my stylist works from! I was quite excited when I received my 1st box. Not only was the shipping super quick, but the packaging is so cute!

Gorjana, Candice Shimmer Ear Climbers

In my first box, I received one set of earrings and 2 necklaces, along with a note from my stylist Eleanor. The earrings were a gold pair of ear climbers from Gorjana (pictured above). I love this style and am ready to try more like this.

The thing that made me really appreciate the service Rocksbox provided, was the piece I thought I would love, I didn't like so much once I put it on. The necklace pictured about from Soko it gorgeous, but I wasn't particular about how it looked on me.

Perry Street, Kira Necklace

My favorite piece was one I wasn't so sure about when I opened my box. But let me tell you! . . . This necklace from Perry Street is perfect for so many looks! I love that I can wear it with jeans and a tank top, but that it will look great with a black or white sundress! This one is definitely a keeper!

I'm excited to send my box back (without the Kira Necklace) and get my new set! Rocksbox, also gives you an opportunity to give feedback on what you are sent, so I'll be doing that tonight! Rocksbox has jewelry from Kendra Scott, Loren Hope and Margaret Elizabeth (just to name a few), so I'm ready for new items from my list!

I think it's perfect for me because I can now figure out what my style is and try so many new things! If you want to try out the Rocksbox subscription, use the code: "corianneelizabethmakeupxoxo" which gives you 1 month free! When you do try it out, tell me what you think about your 1st box!

Styled Shoot for The 9th Atlanta NotWedding!

A few weeks ago, I was a vendor at the 9th Atlanta NotWedding, that took place at Monday Night Brewing. It is a great event for engaged couples, bridal party members and those in the wedding industry. The NotWedding is basically a bridal show in the form of a fake wedding! I know, awesome right?!

Well toward the end of September, to get ready for the event some of the vendors got together to do a styled shoot. For those of you who don't know what a styled shoot is, it's basically a photo shoot where certain vendors collaborate on a theme. Being that this was for the NotWedding, our theme was a Bourbon and Cigar Engagement Party! Yes, very swanky ;-)

I was personally in love with this theme and it was great to meet some of the other vendors who would be involved with this event. The shoot turned out to be an amazing experience and I thought I would share some of them with you! I provided hair and makeup for the female models and grooming for the male model.

I've added a vendor list below of all the vendors that were involved, so for all of you bride-to-be's and those having any events coming up ... These are some amazing people to work with! Be sure to check out more images in my Bridal and Beauty/Editorial sections :-)
