The Perfect Bridal Manicure

Your exquisite wedding gown, flawless face and beaming smile, along with your perfectly coiffed tresses all receive plenty of attention on your wedding day. But your hands should not be forgotten  – from the first flash of that glistening engagement ring to the joining of wedding bands.

For perfect bridal hands, it is critical that you focus on protecting your hands from the sun, while keeping them moisturized. A rich hand cream with SPF will do the trick. Keeping your hands moisturized ensures no rough, scaly looking skin, while helping you keep those cuticles in check. The sun protection will keep sun spots and premature wrinkles at bay. So as a part of your wedding planning, don't neglect your hands and make them a part of your "beauty" routine. Two of my favorite hand creams are below:

Deborah Lippmann's Rich Girl Broad Spectrum SPF 25 Hand Cream

La Prairie's White Caviar Illuminating Hand Cream

As a bride, your bridal manicure will depend on your bridal style. For a slight twist on the traditional, try a pretty blue nail color, for your "Something Blue."

OPI's Eternally Turquoise

Soft and neutral nail colors keep the overall bridal look sweet or even modest, if that is your preference.

OPI's Steady As a Rose

For those of you that love a french manicure, but desire something a bit different for such a special day . . . Try changing up the color options, like below. It's different without being to bold.

If you typically like designs on your nails but are a bit concerned about going overboard, you can always stick with a shade of pink or peach, and have a design added in white.

The Perfect Super Bowl Lips!

So I'm sure you're thinking, "What does the 2015 Super Bowl have to do with makeup?!" Well, at most Super Bowl parties you eat, snack and drink quite a bit right? Wouldn't it be great to not have to even think about whether your lipstick is smeared all over your teeth? Or if your "red lips" are on your chin after your finished that yummy slider?

No one wants to be thinking about those things, you just want to enjoy time with your friends and family, while enjoying the snacks! So I'm going to tell you my Top 3 long lasting lip options so that you can relax and enjoy cheering for the Patriots! (or Seahawks :-) The great thing about these options is that they are easily accessible to pretty much everyone. There is no need to order online . . . You can find them at a nearby mall, Sephora or Ulta!

First up are the MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear lipliners. These are fabulous! I keep many of them in my kit, and even though they are long lasting, they go on quite smoothly. There are several shade options, so there is something for everyone. Before applying any other lip product,  line your entire lipline with this pencil and then use it like you would a lipstick to increase staying power.

Stila Cosmetics makes a liquid lipstick called Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks. Yes, these stay all day. But what I love most, are the color options they have! There is a vinyl line of these, OMG! Seriously, head to your nearest Ulta to try them out.

Last, but certainly not least, are the Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks. There is a reason so many people rave about these little treasures. Between brides and my teenagers for prom, they work perfectly. Many of my clients now keep 1 or 2 of these in their makeup bags ;-)

Now that those lips are covered, find there perfect pair of blue jeans, a cute top, and enjoy the party! Don't forget to subscribe to my blog for more makeup and beauty tips below :-)

I started this year off with the Bridal Ball on January 11, 2015. It is a luxury bridal show and Atlanta's most well-attended bridal show as well. I was honored to be asked to provide hair and makeup for some of the models who were a part of the festivities!

I provided hair and makeup for the models of  CTO Bridal Boutique. The owner, Cereatha Owens-Fontanez, is such a sweetheart and provides wonderful service to her clients, so definitely check out the boutique . . .  They have something for every bride!

I wasn't feeling well that weekend, but the show must go on! So for all my bride-to-be's, I will show up ready to rock 'n' roll with gloves on and a face mask if necessary!

I was set-up and ready to go at 9 am! The models I worked with were great, and it is always fun to have creative freedom to just do what you want. As with any situation, I had to make a few changes, even though I already had a "plan." The models looked fabulous and the gowns were so amazing!

And for those of you who are sad you missed it . . . No Worries!!! The next Bridal Ball will be held on March 1, 2015 at Sonesta Gwinnett Place Atlanta, from 2 pm to 6 pm. I hope to see some of you there! I will have a booth set-up, as well as doing hair & makeup for more models. So come and say hi, and enter to win a few awesome makeup prizes at my table!
